About the Role

At Scalian, an Enterprise Architect aligns business strategy with technological capabilities to ensure our application, data, infrastructure, and security portfolio delivers measurable business value. You will define the target architecture, govern standards, and orchestrate transformation roadmaps for scalable growth, profitability, and resilience.

What You'll Do

  • Translate business strategy into a concrete vision, principles, and target state for enterprise architecture across business, application, data, technology, and security domains.
  • Develop and maintain architecture plans and roadmaps guiding modernization, cloud adoption, and platform consolidation.
  • Establish and oversee architecture governance, including standards, models, reference architectures, reviews, and exceptions.
  • Lead current state assessments, creating capability maps, process maps, application inventories, technology stacks, and technical debt analyses.
  • Create multi-year transformation plans with investment analyses, value measures, milestones, and dependencies.
  • Collaborate with finance to prioritize initiatives using TCO, ROI, and risk models; support annual planning and budgeting cycles.
  • Guide solution architects and engineering teams to ensure designs comply with enterprise standards and non-functional requirements like scalability, performance, and reliability.
  • Lead architecture review committees, evaluating designs for fitness for purpose and strategic alignment.
  • Define integration strategies (API, event-driven, messaging) and data architecture (master data, lineage, quality).
  • Ensure architectures comply with security standards, privacy regulations like GDPR, industry standards (ISO, NIST, CIS), and business continuity/disaster recovery requirements.
  • Conduct risk assessments, maintain architectural decision records (ADR), and manage technology lifecycle including roadmaps and end-of-life/end-of-support.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 4 years in architecture, solution design, or technical leadership, with at least 4 years specifically in enterprise architecture or an equivalent role.
  • Proven experience in large-scale IT/enterprise transformation, such as cloud migration, ERP/CRM modernization, platform consolidation, or data platform development.
  • Good knowledge of EA frameworks like TOGAF, modeling languages like ArchiMate/UML, and architecture governance practices.
  • Strategic thinking with a focus on pragmatic implementation.
  • Ability to influence without authority and strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Systemic thinking and a strong awareness of risks.
  • Clear communication skills, using visual aids and narratives for both executives and engineers.
  • Decision discipline in architectural design reviews and trade-off analysis.
  • A continuous improvement mindset.
