Rockwell Automation is hiring an Engineering Manager, ESW to provide technical leadership to a team supporting product development. You will foster collaboration across Engineering, Product Management, Business, Project Management, and Quality, motivating and mentoring the team to achieve common goals.
What You'll Do
- Lead a team of 10 - 15 engineers (embedded software/firmware and test engineers).
- Manage, coach, and hold the team accountable for achieving goals and meeting commitments.
- Ensure product development activities comply with corporate and business-level procedures.
- Promote problem resolution, clarify ambiguities, and remove impediments.
- Lead the team towards continuous improvement.
- Encourage collaboration to achieve common goals.
- Monitor project status and escalate issues.
- Develop team technical competencies to ensure the team can support our needs.
- Manage resource allocation to ensure the right resources are available for different business needs.
- Identify and adopt best practices and lessons learned from internal and external sources.
- Provide technical leadership, including driving problems toward resolution when encountering uncertainty or inflexibility.
- Champion new ideas and projects, embracing challenges and striving for success.
- Encourage a positive work environment to foster outstanding performance.

What We're Looking For
- Minimum 12 years of experience in embedded product development.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a people manager in product development.
- Experience developing embedded software, including product verification and validation knowledge.
- Experience guiding a team in analyzing and solving complex problems involving both hardware and firmware.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate with people of all levels and across borders.
- Ability to adapt quickly and respond to needs and strategic changes.
- Great attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong passion for embedded engineering.
- Strong desire for continuous improvement in applying best practices and modern technologies in embedded design.
- Excellent work ethics, valuing quality, productivity, technical innovation, and creativity.
Nice to Have
- Knowledge of hardware in high-speed digital and analog circuits.
- Knowledge in Industrial Automation communication.
- Knowledge of analysis tools, design guidelines, and best practices.
- Agile/SAFe methodologies experience.
- Cybersecurity/IEC 62443 experience.
- IEC 61508 Functional Safety experience.
