Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors was looking for an Engineering Lead (Remote - US)

Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors is seeking a hands-on Engineering Lead for a high-impact, remote leadership role. You will oversee system architecture, lead project execution, and contribute directly to critical initiatives in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

What You'll Do

  • Architect and develop scalable, high-performance systems that support the company’s evolving product and infrastructure needs.
  • Lead end-to-end project execution, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery while proactively addressing risks and technical challenges.
  • Provide technical leadership and hands-on guidance across frontend, backend, and middleware layers.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product, marketing, sales, and operations to align engineering output with business strategy.
  • Uphold and promote engineering excellence through coding standards, QA processes, and system reliability.
  • Foster team growth through mentorship, skill development, and a strong culture of ownership and accountability.

What We're Looking For

  • 6+ years of experience in engineering roles, with proven results delivering scalable solutions.
  • Deep understanding of both frontend and backend systems.
  • Capable of leading a small team and contributing hands-on to development.
  • Proficiency building SaaS platforms and point solutions.
  • Ability to design and deploy systems autonomously when needed.
  • Strong project management, strategic thinking, and communication skills.
  • Ability to translate technical language into business context.
  • L4-level engineering capabilities with a proactive and collaborative leadership style.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in direct-to-consumer, telehealth, or CPG sectors.
  • Experience with middleware, SSO user management.
  • Familiarity with ERP/EMR or Healthie systems.
