About the Role

The role involves developing electrical designs for power distribution systems, supporting project teams, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and client requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Design electrical systems for power transmission and distribution networks
  • Perform load flow and short circuit analyses
  • Prepare engineering drawings and specifications
  • Conduct field surveys and site assessments
  • Coordinate with civil and structural engineers on integrated designs
  • Review contractor submittals and shop drawings
  • Support permitting and regulatory compliance efforts
  • Develop single-line diagrams and schematics
  • Perform voltage drop and coordination studies
  • Assist in project scoping and cost estimation
  • Ensure designs meet NEC, NESC, and IEEE standards
  • Participate in client meetings and technical discussions
  • Manage multiple tasks within project timelines
  • Provide technical guidance to junior engineers
  • Review protection schemes and relay settings
  • Evaluate equipment specifications for transformers and switchgear
  • Support construction administration activities
  • Troubleshoot electrical system issues in the field
  • Prepare operation and maintenance documentation
  • Stay current with advancements in power system technologies

Nice to Have

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Experience with microgrid design
  • Certified in Power Systems Engineering (PSE)
  • Project management professional (PMP) certification
  • Experience in transportation or public sector projects
  • Familiarity with sustainable design practices
  • Knowledge of smart grid technologies
  • Experience with SCADA systems
  • Background in utility-scale solar or wind projects
  • Exposure to emergency and standby power systems
