About the Role
The Electrical Apprentice will assist in the installation, wiring, and maintenance of solar photovoltaic systems. This role involves learning electrical fundamentals, following safety protocols, and contributing to project completion under supervision.
Responsibilities
- Assist in assembling and installing solar panel systems on residential and commercial properties
- Learn proper wiring techniques for electrical components related to solar energy systems
- Follow all safety standards and company procedures during field operations
- Support journeyman electricians with equipment setup and site preparation
- Handle tools and materials safely and efficiently at job sites
- Participate in on-the-job training to develop electrical knowledge and skills
- Inspect components for damage or defects before installation
- Transport tools, panels, and equipment to and from worksites
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Document progress and report issues to supervising technicians
- Adhere to electrical codes and regulatory requirements
- Assist in troubleshooting system performance issues
- Attend required training sessions and safety meetings
- Use ladders, scaffolding, and roof anchors safely
- Work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Follow detailed installation plans and blueprints
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors
- Operate vehicles and equipment as needed for site access
- Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations
- Contribute to timely project completion
