ALTEN is looking for an Environmental Health & Safety SME to ensure regulatory compliance for UAV materials, flight operations, and associated documentation. This role primarily supports operations with Italian customers and Ministry of Defense sites.
What You'll Do
- Ensure health and safety compliance for materials, flight operations, and hazardous substances.
- Conduct or support REACH compliance assessments and documentation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and Italian stakeholders on EH&S deliverables.
- Coordinate via DUVRI (Single Document for the Assessment of Interference Risks) when operating on MoD sites.
- Ensure manuals are promptly updated when new safety requirements arise.
- Manage procedures for handling, storing, and disposing hazardous materials per the Manual for Hazardous Materials Management.
What We're Looking For
- Knowledge of D.Lgs. 81/2008 – Italian workplace health and safety law.
- Experience with REACH (Regulation EC No. 1907/2006) compliance, including REACH Declaration of Conformity, annual certifications for threshold substances, and Safety Data Sheets (SDS) with identifiers (EINECS/EC or CAS).
- Knowledge of RoHS/WEEE (D.Lgs. 151/2005) compliance for electrical/electronic equipment.
- Knowledge of EU Product Liability Directive 85/374/EEC.
- Knowledge of RPAS Safety & Airworthiness Framework (AER(EP)), including AER(EP).P-22, AER(EP).P-21, AER(EP).P-516, AER.P-170, AER.P-171, and AER(EP).P-104.

Benefits & Compensation
- Salary: $100,000-$120,000

This position operates on a hybrid schedule and is based in Simi Valley, California.
