About the Role

This position provides practical experience in editing manuscripts for clarity, consistency, and correctness. Interns will work closely with editorial staff to refine submissions across various genres and formats.

Responsibilities

  • Review manuscripts for grammar, punctuation, and spelling errors
  • Ensure content adheres to style guidelines
  • Provide feedback on structure and readability
  • Collaborate with editorial staff on revision strategies
  • Track changes and communicate edits clearly
  • Evaluate submissions for editorial suitability
  • Assist in preparing manuscripts for production
  • Maintain consistency across multiple documents
  • Summarize editorial notes for authors
  • Participate in team discussions about content direction
  • Meet deadlines for assigned editing tasks
  • Handle confidential material with discretion
  • Adapt editing approach based on genre requirements
  • Use editing software and tools effectively
  • Log progress and report completion status
  • Follow revision instructions from senior editors
  • Identify areas needing author clarification
  • Support quality control checks before publication
  • Contribute to editorial style guide updates
  • Organize and manage assigned files systematically
