Responsibilities
- Oversee technical operations of ground stations from start to finish, covering radio frequency and intermediate frequency systems, antennas, tracking mechanisms, and environmental controls
- Monitor station performance, initiate new stations, activate communication links, adjust configurations, and optimize system efficiency
- Diagnose and fix technical issues, leading efforts to identify faults across ground infrastructure, mission systems, spacecraft, and network connections until fully resolved
- Schedule and carry out preventive and corrective maintenance tasks, including on-site work, remote assistance, and coordination with external vendors
- Work closely with teams in satellite operations, engineering, IT, networking, payload, software, and program management during normal and emergency situations
- Create, update, and manage standard operating procedures, maintenance plans, emergency protocols, and operational records while maintaining accurate system configurations
- Design and sustain monitoring tools and dashboards for tracking telemetry data, performance trends, and overall system health
- Record incidents, conduct root cause investigations, document corrective measures, and share updates, risks, and escalations with relevant parties
- Assist in testing, commissioning, and accepting new ground stations, system upgrades, and modifications; take part in shift schedules and on-call duties
- Ensure adherence to regulatory standards, safety protocols, and customer requirements while advancing system reliability, automation, efficiency, and scalability
