Orono Public Schools is hiring a full-time Earth Science Teacher for 6th Grade at Orono Middle School. You will implement NGSS-aligned, inquiry-based teaching strategies and collaborate with a dedicated team to support middle school students' academic and social-emotional development.

What You'll Do

• Implement best-practice NGSS teaching and learning strategies into the 6th-grade Earth Science curriculum.
• Emphasize inquiry-based approaches to foster scientific thinking.
• Work collaboratively with team members to support students' academic, social, and emotional growth.
• Collaborate with colleagues to design common assessments and use data to target student needs.
• Participate regularly and actively in PLC meetings.
• Communicate frequently with parents, colleagues, students, and administrators using available technology.
• Establish and maintain high standards for character growth.

What We're Looking For

• A current Minnesota Earth Science and/or Middle School Science Teaching License.
• A high level of content expertise in Earth Science.
• Effective classroom management and communication skills.
• Demonstrated experience in collaboration, problem-solving, and curriculum design.
• Understanding of parent involvement and the ability to collaborate effectively with families.
• Ability to use technology as an instructional tool.
• Demonstrated ability to support critical thinking and meaningful discourse in science.

Nice to Have

• Experience with and understanding of the MTSS process.
• Experience working specifically with middle-level students.

You will work collaboratively with team members and participate actively in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs).

• Salary Range: $49,266 to $105,958.
