Educational Service District 112 is hiring a Special Education Teacher to provide services to students with moderate to severe disabilities from ages three to 21. In this role, you will lead the IEP team to develop data-driven goals, create curriculum, and continually assess student progress across elementary, middle, and high school levels.
What You'll Do
- Select and adjust teaching strategies to implement Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals.
- Provide classroom, small group, and one-on-one instruction.
- Conduct assessments to determine program eligibility and services.
- Use computer technology and programs to document data collection.
- Develop daily lesson plans and post monthly overviews on the school district website.
- Develop, write, and complete IEPs; organize, schedule, and facilitate IEP meetings with parents, general education staff, and specialists.
- Supervise the collection of performance data on student IEP goals and document progress online.
- Communicate with parents and students regarding transition goals.
- Develop and adapt curriculum from the general education curriculum; coordinate with general education teachers to monitor student grades and progress.
- Provide one-on-one assistance to students.
- Supervise and train staff to support student learning.
- Write and conduct performance evaluations for classified staff with assistance from the Special Education Administrator.
- Consult and collaborate with professionals and parents regarding student needs; participate in the Building Assistance Team; inform principal and staff on student progress.
- Maintain a safe, conducive learning environment; establish classroom management programs and adjust individual behavior management plans.
What We're Looking For
- Hold or be eligible to hold a valid Washington teaching certificate with a K-12 special education endorsement.
- Experience in writing individualized curriculum.
- Experience in developing, executing, and adjusting behavior management programs.
Nice to Have
- Teaching experience.
- Experience training and supervising paraeducators.
- Experience teaching children with disabilities.
- Experience serving students in rural or remote districts.

Reports directly to a Special Education Administrator.
Benefits & Compensation
- Salary range: $57,898.00 - $109,132.00
