A Senior Business Systems Analyst is needed for a contract role lasting over six months in Santa Ana, CA. This position requires local residency and employment authorization via EAD GC or U.S. citizenship. Candidates must present sample Business Requirement Documents during the in-person interview.
Key Responsibilities
Support users accessing systems remotely and implement moderate to complex updates across databases, subsystems, and user-maintained tables that affect reporting and integrations. Generate detailed ad hoc reports and perform data comparisons to support business needs. Mentor junior analysts and peers on handling complex system modifications and workflows.
Investigate and resolve moderately complex system issues using established policies and procedures. Independently analyze problems, propose fixes, and implement temporary solutions when necessary. Evaluate the impact of proposed business changes on existing systems and processes. Identify high-priority items and determine which can be resolved at the analyst level versus those requiring escalation.
Collect, assess, and model data and process flows for projects with moderate to high complexity. Author clear business requirements, define project scope, and ensure IT teams accurately interpret functional needs. Translate business needs into detailed functional specifications and verify technical documentation aligns with business objectives.
Demonstrate understanding of project management principles and apply approved methodologies. Lead cross-functional, moderately complex initiatives, managing timelines, team coordination, and deliverables. Track progress, identify roadblocks, and report status to stakeholders. Guide less experienced team members and contribute to planning, execution, and delivery across projects of varying size.
Manage multiple small to medium-sized projects simultaneously. Develop task plans, schedule activities, and coordinate team efforts to meet deadlines. Anticipate challenges, create contingency strategies, and recommend effective solutions.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a U.S. citizen or hold EAD GC status
- Local to Santa Ana, CA for in-person interview
- Minimum of 5 years as a Business Systems Analyst
- Over 5 years of experience creating Business Requirement Documents
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, particularly for phone-based business interactions
- Proven ability to learn new software and systems quickly
- Skilled in processing time-sensitive data from multiple sources and making sound decisions
- Keen attention to detail for documenting complex workflows
- Ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, and collaborate within project teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field, or equivalent experience
- Project management experience or certifications such as Green Belt or Business Analyst certification
Technical Environment
Work involves mainframe systems, the Microsoft suite, and Rational tools.
