Swift Transportation is hiring a Driver Onboarding Coordinator to supervise a fleet of new hire drivers, guiding them through mentorship and assessments to become solo drivers. You will be a cultural ambassador and internal advocate for trainee driver experience, playing a vital role in achieving high driver retention.
What You'll Do
- Coordinate assessments of new drivers' progress, providing performance coaching to drivers and mentors.
- Build meaningful relationships of trust with new hire drivers, providing outstanding support throughout training.
- Closely monitor the progress and skill development of all new drivers, intervening where necessary.
- Monitor new driver and mentor performance indicators to achieve quality and satisfaction objectives.
- Act as an internal advocate for trainee driver experience, investigating and resolving concerns.
- Routinely observe and/or participate in meetings between drivers and their leaders to provide solutions meeting both driver and company expectations.
- Ensure the timeliness and accuracy of new hire driver pay.
- Proactively provide coaching and guidance to Driver Leaders regarding drivers transitioning to their team.
- Facilitate and lead engaging and informative orientation sessions.
- Ensure all drivers meet DOT/Swift requirements regarding medical exams.
- Disqualify applicants who do not meet drug screen and hiring criteria; consult with leadership on additional disqualification concerns.
- Maintain status as a DOT and non-DOT qualified collector for hair and/or urine sample collections.
- Ensure all activities related to driver file completion, reference verification, compliance testing, and other pre-hire activities are done promptly and effectively.
What We're Looking For
- 2+ years' experience in human resources, customer service, and/or operations.
- Must be service-orientated with exceptional interpersonal skills.
- Ability to collaborate, build consensus, solve problems, and resolve conflicts.
- Ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations.
- Familiarity with the MS Office Suite.
- An Associate's degree in business or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Qualified collector status, or ability to become qualified within 30 days of hire.
