Colas Rail UK is looking for a Driver responsible for the safe transport, delivery, loading, and unloading of asphalt products. You will be a key part of our operations, ensuring materials are moved efficiently while maintaining the highest safety standards.
What You'll Do
- Transport asphalt products safely.
- Keep daily logs and adhere to DOT driving regulations, including hours of service regulations in accordance with the Highway Traffic Act.
- Load, unload and deliver all liquid asphalt products.
- Follow all policies and procedures for loading and unloading as outlined in the McAsphalt Driver Policies & Procedures handbook.
- Conduct daily inspection of equipment and report any major/minor defects.
- Ensure equipment is in good condition at all times.
- Keep proper documentation of all necessary paperwork (i.e. delivery, last contained, insurance, ownership).
- Properly label the trailer with correct hazardous materials place cards.
- Follow all safety regulations and ensure proper PPE is worn.
- Follow proper emergency procedure in the event of a spill or accident.
- Perform tank rinsing when dealing with different products.
What We're Looking For
- Must have a commercial Class 1 driver’s license.
- Must be able to work independently.
- Must have TDG, CPPI and WHMIS certifications.
- Must pass DOT hazmat physical, drug and alcohol screening, and a detailed background check.
- Mechanical aptitude required.
Nice to Have
- Tanker experience is preferred.
