NBCUniversal's DreamWorks Feature Animation team is seeking a Compositing Developer to create the Nuke tools and workflows that bring our stories to life. You will be instrumental in developing the technical backbone for the show's visual style, building the gizmos, plugins, and processes that empower artists to achieve the final look.
What You'll Do
- Lead the technical creation of Nuke gizmos and tools required for the final look.
- Author, maintain, and improve show-specific compositing tools within Nuke for artists.
- Support, advise, educate, and mentor artists around proper compositing workflows.
- Advise on and support show Nuke templates, standards, and workflows.
- Create and maintain documentation on workflows, tools, processes, and procedures for compositing aspects related to the show.
- Perform creative lighting development setup as required using lighting and compositing tools.
- Integrate show specific needs from Look Dev into Nuke to allow artists to achieve final look.
- Initiate, setup, organize, and document show specific Nuke gizmos and tools required for the final look.
- Perform technical work in support of shot compositing using various production tools.
- Interpret creative notes from leadership and work with supervisors and leads to come up with technical solutions to achieve the desired look.
- Work with the Production Software Nuke Developer to determine studio compositing needs.
- Help maintain show gizmos that get promoted to studio gizmos.
- Aid in testing and planning major version releases and updates to tools as required.
- As needed, serve as the compositing point person in production and technical meetings and reviews.
- Maintain knowledge of industry-standard trends and technology in your area of expertise while staying abreast of current production workflows and tools.
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of Nuke experience.
- Proficient knowledge in compositing techniques and workflows.
- Capable of writing Nuke gizmos, plugins, nodes, and associated GUIs.
- Ability to write Python, BlinkScript, or similar production programming languages.
- Extensive hands-on production experience with compositing tools and pipelines.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and problem solving skills.
Nice to Have
- Experience with C++ or similar production programming languages.
- Able to interpret artistic direction to execute a final look through compositing.
- Production experience in Lighting, DigiMatte, or similar departments.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to prioritize tasks in a changing environment.
- Being technically and creatively astute.

Benefits & Compensation
- Salary range: USD $125,050 - $140,000 yearly.
