About the Role
This position leads environmental management and sustainability efforts within Department of Energy and National Nuclear Security Administration initiatives, ensuring regulatory compliance and strategic planning across federal projects.
Responsibilities
- Oversee environmental compliance activities for federal energy programs
- Lead sustainability planning and implementation across multiple project sites
- Coordinate with federal agencies on environmental policy adherence
- Develop environmental management frameworks for long-term projects
- Manage stakeholder engagement related to environmental performance
- Prepare environmental impact assessments and mitigation strategies
- Ensure alignment with federal environmental regulations and standards
- Supervise technical teams focused on environmental remediation
- Track environmental metrics and report performance outcomes
- Support program evaluations and audits related to environmental practices
- Integrate sustainability goals into project lifecycle planning
- Facilitate interagency collaboration on environmental initiatives
- Review project designs for environmental risk factors
- Lead corrective action planning for non-compliance issues
- Develop training materials on environmental protocols
- Monitor emerging environmental regulations affecting federal projects
- Advise leadership on environmental strategy and policy implications
- Ensure documentation meets federal reporting requirements
- Manage contracts related to environmental services
- Promote best practices in waste reduction and resource conservation
- Support climate resilience planning within project scopes
- Evaluate contractor performance on environmental deliverables
- Coordinate with legal and compliance teams on environmental matters
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal environmental directives
- Contribute to environmental aspects of national security projects
