Eaton Corporation is looking for a Divisional Switchboard Chief Engineer to serve as the technical subject matter expert for our Panelboard & Switchboards product lines across the CPA group. In this role, you will define strategic direction, establish priorities, and indirectly lead site teams to achieve business objectives while providing a forward-looking vision for future products and technologies.
What You'll Do
- Act as the highest-level technical expert, consulting on innovation, new product introduction, and customer or production technical issues.
- Drive skill development and routinely mentor others in technical specialties.
- Drive innovative products and concepts across the product line with an innovation mindset to challenge the status quo and feed innovation funnels and product roadmaps.
- Supervise file maintenance for UL and CSA files and ensure product compliance to standards.
- Own VN resolution for all product line-related plants and manage payments for third-party work invoices.
- Actively participate in codes and standards organizations (UL, NEC, CSA, NEMA, CANENA), monitoring changes and driving action on third-party proposals impacting the product line.
- Review designs and product standards.
- Ensure tests are conducted safely, following all safety rules and procedures.
What We're Looking For
- A minimum of 10 years of product design experience in power distribution equipment.
- Proven subject matter expertise in designing products that conform to UL standards (e.g., UL50, UL67, UL891).
- Proficiency in engineering software/tools, specifically AutoCAD and Enovia.
- A Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited institution.

- Certification for Design for Six Sigma (DFSS).
- Experience as a technical design expert for liability or legal assessments.
