This infrastructure will facilitate instantaneous collaboration, data streaming, and advanced simulation across our product ecosystem — fundamentally transforming design decision-making processes. As our Distinguished Engineer, you will establish the technical trajectory for this initiative. You'll architect and direct the most intricate systems powering Live, ensuring robust scalability, profound platform integration, and unlocking unprecedented human-AI collaborative potential. This represents a high-impact, hands-on leadership opportunity. You'll collaborate with general management, senior design and engineering leadership, and cross-functional product teams. You'll be required to strategically anticipate challenges — resolving foundational technical complexities while enabling rapid team and partnership advancement. Responsibilities - Define the technical architecture of the Live technology layer, encompassing real-time collaboration, streaming data, and realistic simulation - Make foundational decisions regarding scalability, reliability, and extensibility that chart the direction for next-decade platform growth - Collaborate with product and design leaders to translate vision into technical strategy, balancing long-term architecture with immediate delivery objectives - Mentor senior engineering talent, establishing elevated technical standards and cultivating excellence - Lead through active participation — contribute to prototyping, core infrastructure development, and system-level problem resolution - Represent the technology vision to executive leadership, critical partner teams, and industry stakeholders - Champion core principles: Live by Default, Reality-Connected, Human-AI Partnership, and Experience First Minimum Qualifications - 15+ years of engineering experience with proven leadership at Distinguished Engineer/Chief Architect level or equivalent - Profound expertise in large-scale distributed systems, real-time data streaming, or high-performance simulation technologies - Demonstrated capability to define and deliver technical architecture supporting multiple product lines or business units - Strong ability to balance visionary architectural thinking with pragmatic implementation - Exceptional collaboration skills with senior design, product, and executive leadership - Located in Pacific Time Zone (or capable of working core hours) Preferred Qualifications - Experience with real-time collaboration infrastructure (voice, presence, conversation systems) - Background in 3D simulation, XR, or physics-based engine development - Proven capacity to influence executive-level decision-making through clear technical communication - Strong history of mentoring and elevating senior engineering talent About Our Organization We help innovators transform ideas into reality, revolutionizing not just production methods, but expanding potential creation possibilities.
