About the Role
The dispatcher will serve as a central communication hub between customers, service technicians, and internal departments, ensuring efficient job routing and accurate information flow.
Responsibilities
- Answer incoming calls from customers requesting service
- Log service requests with accurate details and urgency levels
- Assign jobs to available field technicians based on location and skill set
- Monitor technician progress throughout the workday
- Update job statuses in the scheduling system in real time
- Communicate schedule changes or delays to customers promptly
- Coordinate emergency service requests with priority handling
- Maintain clear and professional communication with all parties
- Track parts and equipment needs for upcoming jobs
- Assist with dispatching during high-volume periods
- Follow up on completed jobs for customer satisfaction
- Enter customer data into the management system accurately
- Manage multiple communication channels simultaneously
- Respond to technician inquiries during service calls
- Escalate unresolved customer concerns to supervisors
- Ensure compliance with service response time standards
- Maintain confidentiality of customer information
- Support after-hours on-call dispatch procedures
- Use GPS tracking to monitor technician locations
- Update dispatch logs at the end of each shift
- Assist in generating daily work reports
- Handle rescheduling requests due to unforeseen delays
- Communicate weather-related service impacts to field staff
- Maintain organized records of service tickets
- Support coordination between service and parts departments
