Lead business development for small molecule services across North America in a pivotal role focused on expanding market share and deepening client relationships. You will design and execute strategic plans to grow existing accounts, identify and convert new opportunities, and drive cross-selling of process development and manufacturing services across key customer sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement account growth strategies to increase penetration within established client organizations
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities using proven prospecting methods and market intelligence
- Collaborate with internal teams including project management, marketing, and technical units to align client needs with service offerings
- Track and analyze competitive dynamics in the regional market to inform positioning and outreach
- Represent the organization at industry events and support client visits, including international engagements
- Maintain accurate records of business development activities and report progress against targets
- Leverage Salesforce and MS Office tools to manage pipelines, prepare presentations, and coordinate cross-functional initiatives
Qualifications
Applicants must hold a BA/BS in Life Sciences, Chemistry, Business, Marketing, or a related technical field, along with at least three years of experience in pharmaceutical development, manufacturing, or a similar technical sales or business development role. Prior experience in CRO, CMO, or CDMO environments is essential.
You should have a demonstrated history of meeting or exceeding sales targets, particularly in long sales cycle environments (9–24 months). Expertise in small molecule development—from pre-formulation assessments through clinical supply and regulatory filings (IND to NDA)—is required. Strong communication, presentation, and organizational skills are critical, as is proficiency with Salesforce and Microsoft Office applications.
