Our Company is hiring a Director, Scientific Data Strategy & Governance, a global leadership role accountable for defining, operationalizing, and scaling the data strategy that enables advanced analytics, AI, and discovery across Science and Research. You will own the end-to-end scientific data operating model to ensure data are trusted, compliant, interoperable, and AI-ready.
What You'll Do
- Lead a team to define and deliver curated, reusable, AI-ready scientific data products that enable discovery, modeling, and decision-making across ingredient, formulation, clinical, and production workflows.
- Establish and operate a scientific data governance framework covering data ownership, quality, metadata, lineage, access, and lifecycle management.
- Own conceptual, logical, and physical data models for key scientific domains; define and maintain canonical data standards, ontologies, and semantic data models.
- Define and execute the scientific data strategy spanning internal domains and external data scouting, embedding privacy-by-design and responsible data use.
- Partner with legal, compliance, security, and privacy teams to operationalize privacy-by-design and establish compliant data usage patterns for research and AI.
- Foster relationships and collaborate with multidisciplinary Science & Research, Business Innovation, and Digital & Tech teams to drive value creation.
What We're Looking For
- A minimum of 15 years of relevant post-graduate work experience and 10 years in the life sciences industry.
- Extensive track record of people development and leading large teams (8+ members), preferably global.
- Proven experience defining and operationalizing data strategies, data architecture, or scientific data platforms, and managing cross-functional teams across projects and locations.
- Deep expertise in data standards & ontologies (e.g., CDISC, STDM, ADaM), data modeling, data strategy, tokenization, de-identification, and AI-ready data products.
- Proven experience with diverse, multi-modal data from chemical/biotech manufacturing, discovery, development, or clinical studies; strong understanding of life-science R&D data landscapes.
- A Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, System Biology, Life Science, or a related field.

Team & Environment
You will manage a large team of data governance, clinical/RWD modeling, research data modeling, and data strategy & privacy professionals, leading this multidisciplinary group.
