Lead reinsurance accounting operations with a focus on precision and compliance across multiple regulatory standards. In this role, you will manage a team responsible for delivering accurate monthly and quarterly financial closes, ensuring alignment with GAAP, U.S. Statutory, and Bermuda Statutory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the preparation and review of reinsurance cession calculations and settlement processes.
- Coordinate financial statement disclosures and regulatory filings, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
- Support stakeholder understanding of reinsurance results through clear, data-driven explanations.
- Guide the accounting integration of new reinsurance transactions to meet regulatory and internal control standards.
- Maintain a strong control environment by documenting processes and supporting internal and external audit activities.
- Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, enhance automation, and standardize procedures across systems.
- Lead special projects and respond to ad hoc requests with a focus on operational efficiency.
Qualifications
Candidates should bring at least eight years of insurance industry experience, including direct work with complex reinsurance treaties. Strong analytical thinking, organizational discipline, and attention to detail are essential. Proven success in improving processes and implementing automation is highly valued.
Experience across multiple financial systems is expected, with preference given to familiarity with SAP and BPC. Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel, Word, PowerBI, and Alteryx supports success in this role.
Work Environment
This position operates under a hybrid model, supporting a blend of in-office and remote work. Full remote eligibility may be available for candidates located outside designated hub areas. The role offers flexibility in work location while maintaining alignment with team objectives.
