About the Role

Lead the advancement of utility-scale renewable energy projects in the United States, guiding wind, solar, and battery energy storage system (BESS) developments from initial identification through to construction readiness. This position plays a central role in shaping the future of clean energy by managing critical early-stage activities and ensuring projects are technically, legally, and socially viable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive one or more priority projects to a construction-ready state by managing timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder alignment
  • Negotiate land rights including surface leases, easements, crossing agreements, and mineral-related waivers essential for project development and operation
  • Obtain all required local, state, and federal permits and regulatory approvals
  • Secure agreements with local jurisdictions covering tax arrangements, road use, decommissioning plans, and community benefits
  • Partner with engineering and construction teams on technology selection, project layout, and design optimization

  • Support financial modeling and analysis to evaluate project viability
  • Engage directly with landowners and community members through one-on-one conversations and public meetings
  • Build and sustain positive relationships with local stakeholders to support long-term project success
  • Maintain project management tools such as budgets, schedules, land status maps, and landowner tracking systems
  • Identify and evaluate new greenfield opportunities for wind, solar, and energy storage projects
  • Contribute to M&A due diligence when applicable
  • Conduct market and competitive analysis to inform project prospecting strategies
  • Work with the interconnection team to submit and manage interconnection requests and track progress through the queue
  • Coordinate with resource assessment teams to deploy and manage measurement campaigns
  • Support commercial, finance, and origination teams in marketing, financial analysis, and securing project funding
  • Ensure all project documentation meets financing and compliance standards
  • Prepare regular status updates and reports for leadership
  • Oversee project expenditures and manage invoice processing
  • Perform additional duties as needed

Qualifications

Candidates must demonstrate a strong interest in renewable energy and possess a bachelor’s degree along with a minimum of four years of project development experience in the energy sector. Direct experience in renewable energy development is preferred, and hands-on experience in BESS project development is required. Ideal candidates will have a solid grasp of the full lifecycle of battery storage systems.

Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills are essential. The role demands the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with precision and initiative. Candidates should be self-driven, capable of working independently, and skilled at collaborating across technical, legal, and commercial teams.
