Bombardier is looking for a Director of Engineering to lead our Aftermarket division. This role provides strategic, technical, and people leadership for all Aftermarket Engineering activities, ensuring the delivery of safe, compliant, and high-quality engineering solutions that support aftermarket revenue growth, fleet reliability, and customer satisfaction across our business aircraft programs.
What You'll Do
- Provide overall leadership, accountability, and strategic direction for Aftermarket Engineering.
- Establish engineering strategies, priorities, and resource plans aligned with business objectives.
- Develop multi-year strategic plans for Aftermarket Engineering.
- Lead Integrated Product Development Teams to deliver modifications, STCs, service bulletins, and new aftermarket products.
- Monitor and control engineering costs, staffing levels, and external spend to ensure cost-effectiveness.
- Support business cases for aftermarket investments, ensuring clear return on investment.
- Ensure timely and effective engineering support for in-service aircraft, including AOG support.
- Drive operational excellence through governance, metrics, and continuous improvement of engineering processes.
- Support customer-facing activities by providing technical leadership and strategic guidance.
- Lead and develop managers, section chiefs, technical integrators, and senior engineers across multiple disciplines.
- Build a strong engineering culture focused on accountability, collaboration, safety, and technical excellence.
- Manage performance, talent development, succession planning, and workforce planning.
- Promote employee engagement, inclusion, and continuous learning.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- 15+ years of experience in aerospace engineering, including aftermarket, aircraft modification, certification, or in-service support.
- Demonstrated experience leading large, multidisciplinary engineering organizations.
- Strong knowledge of airworthiness, certification, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Proven ability to lead complex programs, manage risk, and deliver results in a dynamic business environment.
Nice to Have
- Advanced degree in engineering or business.
- Experience working with global engineering teams and external regulatory authorities.
- Demonstrated success driving organizational transformation and continuous improvement initiatives.
Team & Environment
You will lead the Aftermarket Engineering organization, including BAS Engineering, Aftermarket NPD, and In-Service Engineering (ISE).
