Responsibilities
- Partner with project developers during early-stage development to assess community context, potential risks, and engagement requirements.
- Conduct thorough analysis of local community dynamics, political landscapes, and permitting environments for each project.
- Develop tailored community outreach strategies and consistent project messaging frameworks.
- Lead training initiatives for internal teams on effective and ethical community engagement methods.
- Maintain and update internal standards, guidelines, and a centralized library of engagement resources.
- Support the expansion and organizational development of the in-house Community Engagement Team.
- Document insights from completed projects to refine and standardize scalable engagement workflows.
- Collaborate with developers on complex, later-stage projects requiring advanced stakeholder engagement approaches.
- Design and manage high-risk engagement plans, including strategies for addressing opposition and building supportive coalitions.
- Co-manage key relationships with local decision-makers, community leaders, and advocacy groups alongside project developers.
- Supervise third-party consultants involved in community outreach and public affairs as needed.
- Organize and oversee local events, sponsorships, and educational programs to foster community goodwill.
- Collaborate with developers to define representation strategies at public forums such as county commission and planning board hearings.
- Develop and enforce organization-wide standards for community engagement practices.
- Create efficient internal systems and processes to support company growth and project scalability.
- Engage with industry experts to enhance internal engagement expertise and methodologies.
- Ensure all engagement activities comply with legal, regulatory, and permitting requirements.
- Provide timely and clear updates to internal stakeholders across Development, Legal, Government Affairs, and executive leadership regarding community risks, stakeholder developments, and recommended actions.
