Accel Schools is hiring a Director of Academics - SY 26-27

Responsibilities

  • Take full responsibility for developing and supporting instructional staff by guiding effective use of teaching and support resources to ensure comprehensive curriculum delivery.
  • Assist teachers in modifying instructional materials and methods to meet diverse student needs through varied differentiation techniques, including flexible grouping.
  • Conduct weekly reviews of teacher lesson plans to ensure alignment with curriculum goals.
  • Carry out regular classroom observations and follow-up debrief sessions with teaching staff.
  • Demonstrate strong instructional techniques by modeling effective teaching strategies in practice.
  • Deliver constructive feedback, coaching, and professional growth opportunities to help teachers master instructional excellence.
  • Design and deliver ongoing, focused professional development that aligns with curriculum goals and advances student learning outcomes.
  • Analyze multiple data sources to identify obstacles to student success and inform improvements in instruction.
  • Track and apply student performance data from assessments—including standardized tests, ILS reports, and classroom evaluations—to guide teaching decisions.
  • Support the implementation of student intervention programs and assess their effectiveness using performance data.
  • Collaborate with parents to build trust in the teaching team and the academic program.
  • Lead special initiatives such as peer mentoring, service learning, and community engagement efforts.
  • Complete additional duties as assigned by leadership.
