Lead the strategic direction for a prominent plant-based brand within one of the nation's largest retail partners. This role is responsible for shaping and executing long-term growth initiatives at Target, ensuring alignment between corporate objectives and retail execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement tailored growth strategies specific to the Target account
- Represent the brand during sales engagements at Target headquarters in Minneapolis
- Collaborate with senior retail leaders to identify growth opportunities and shape category strategy
- Co-create annual business plans focused on volume, margin, and market share goals
- Oversee performance across the full portfolio of plant-based offerings
- Manage forecasting accuracy for sales volume, trade investment, and profitability
- Lead trade promotion planning, execution, and post-event evaluation to maximize ROI
- Ensure alignment between marketing initiatives and in-store execution
- Supervise broker teams and conduct regular performance reviews
- Deliver actionable insights during joint business reviews across multiple categories
- Advocate internally for retail partner needs to ensure organizational support
- Build and maintain high-impact relationships through structured planning and executive engagement
Qualifications
- Proven experience in consumer goods with a strong grasp of competitive retail dynamics
- Self-driven with the ability to operate effectively in evolving environments
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; 5–7 years in sales, account management, or related roles
- Track record of driving sales growth, particularly with emerging or competitive brands
- Proficiency in syndicated data platforms including Circana, SPINS, Nielsen, and Retail Link
- Advanced skills in MS Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
Preferred Experience
- Experience managing broker networks
- Familiarity with CRM systems such as Salesforce
- Background using automated trade spend platforms like Telus
Work Environment
This position operates in a hybrid model with a primary location in Minneapolis. Travel to support retail partnerships may be required up to 25% of the time.
Compensation & Benefits
Base salary range: $170,000 – $195,000 annually. Eligible for bonus participation and comprehensive benefits, including health coverage and retirement plans.
