About the Role

BD (Becton Dickinson) is hiring a Director of Human Resources to serve as a strategic HR leader for client groups. In this role, you will be a trusted advisor to business leaders, driving organizational effectiveness, talent management, compensation, associate engagement, and HR functional excellence. You will be a key partner in enabling our business strategy and fostering our inclusive, growth-centered culture.

What You'll Do

  • Lead Organization Effectiveness and development efforts aligned with business and HR strategic goals.
  • Provide proactive HR business partnering support for Client Leaders and their leadership teams.
  • Identify and resolve business needs, create organizational plans, and build key capabilities.
  • Lead organizational capability and capacity analyses, strategic workforce planning, and organization design.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to client leaders to support their business and functional plans.
  • Identify and capitalize on opportunities to drive and lead organizational change initiatives.
  • Develop and conduct team development/team building strategies to improve team performance.
  • Present options to managers on organizational structure, roles, responsibilities, and staffing levels.
  • Contribute significantly to client strategy discussions and decision making.
  • Guide leaders to fill competency gaps through talent acquisition and development.
  • Act as talent advisor, facilitator, and champion to ensure strong succession pipelines for critical roles.
  • Partner with Talent Management and Talent Acquisition teams to align top talent to highest priorities.
  • Participate on key interview teams and strategically counsel hiring leaders in the selection process.
  • Facilitate the Performance Management process and mentor managers through it.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand training and development needs and work with TM COE on recommendations.
  • Provide consultative guidance for compensation and facilitate appropriate compensation reviews.
  • Ensure alignment of rewards to performance during annual Compensation Planning.
  • Provide consultation and benchmarking insights for job offers based on strategic need.
  • Review periodic compensation reports and follow-up with leaders as required.
  • Ensure compliance to Pay Equity regulations.
  • Partner with client groups on employee engagement, retention, and team culture initiatives.
  • Guide managers to AccessHR for employee relations and performance issues.
  • Provide HR advisory support for complex HR issues while liaising with HR COEs and legal.
  • Identify trends and root causes to improve organizational and associate satisfaction.
  • Actively use data and metrics to drive client engagement and accountability for outcomes.
  • Audit and address attrition and retention proactively.
  • Be the face of HR to client groups and live ‘OneHR’ everyday.
  • Coach managers to utilize and handle their workforce through Workday.
  • Partner with the ASC and AccessHR to understand trends and discuss items.
  • Partner with COEs to engage them on organizational plans for holistic HR support.
  • Facilitate warm transfers to the ASC or AccessHR when appropriate.
  • Partner with COEs to design, develop and deploy updated processes or changes.
  • Guarantee adherence to all ESA and aligning HR processes accordingly.
  • May lead special projects or processes related to program improvements for the global business.
  • Work on complex issues requiring in-depth knowledge of team and interpersonal dynamics.

What We're Looking For

  • BSc/BA degree in Business Administration, HR Management or related field.
  • Minimum of 10-15 years professional experience in HR.
  • Experience in capabilities such as change management, organizational effectiveness/development, policy development and administration, recruitment/selection, compensation, employment law, positive employee relations, performance management, HRIS and/or employee and management training/development.

Nice to Have

  • Advanced degree (MBA/ Masters in HR or equivalent).
  • Professional of Human Resources (CHRL) Certification.
  • Experience working in large complex environments and matrixed multinational organization.
  • Fluency in French.
  • Excellent communication/influencing skills across multiple levels, functions, and cultures.
