Gilead Sciences, Inc. is looking for a Director, Commercial Planning to manage production planning, purchasing, material control, inventory control, and shipping/receiving functions. In this role, you will provide expertise in establishing production control systems and coordinate key interdepartmental activities to support our mission of creating a healthier world.
What You'll Do
- Manage the planning, development, implementation, administration, and budgeting for production planning, purchasing, material control, inventory control, and shipping/receiving.
- Coordinate activities and resolve issues related to production planning, procurement, and material management, making or recommending decisions consistent with strategic direction.
- Implement and maintain material control systems, policies, and processes to ensure a controlled flow of approved materials timed to meet production requirements.
- Ensure personnel, equipment, materials, and services are provided to maintain acceptable inventory levels.
- Coordinate interdepartmental activity with Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Contract Administration.
- Provide expertise and guidance in the establishment and maintenance of the production control system.
- Serve as a liaison between the company and various governmental agencies, directly interfacing with regulatory agencies as required.
- Review, approve, and/or implement changes to controlled documents as needed.
- Develop new applications for the department based on professional principles and theories.
- Negotiate major contracts involving large financial amounts and monitor cost, schedules, and performance aspects of major contracts.
What We're Looking For
- 12+ years of relevant experience in a related field and a BS or BA degree.
- Able to develop complex concepts, techniques, and standards.
- Able to develop solutions to complex problems which require an in-depth degree of ingenuity, creativity, and innovativeness.
- Demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of the financial aspects of Supply Chain operations.
Nice to Have
- 10+ years of relevant experience and an MA or MBA degree.

- Compensation range: $210,375.00 - $272,250.00
