Paramount’s CBS News Detroit is hiring a Digital Line Producer to create and maintain content across digital platforms, with a primary focus on its 24/7 streaming channel. You will coordinate closely with multiple teams to increase viewership and enhance the user experience on OTT, desktop, and mobile platforms.
What You'll Do
- Respond to breaking news with a fast-paced, decisive mindset.
- Be present in the control room for live coverage of events, newscasts, and breaking news.
- Exercise editorial judgment in the selection of content.
- Produce live or pre-taped segments as needed.
- Develop fluency in the technical framework behind the stream; navigate and troubleshoot as needed.
- Create and maintain the programming wheel; understand timing to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Write and edit original and updated content for the stream.
- Execute stream-only programming with ease, including press conferences and other live events.
- Assist in producing content for other digital platforms, including web and social media.
- Adapt quickly to changing workflows, tools, and editorial priorities.
- Use audience metrics and performance data to inform content and programming decisions.
What We're Looking For
- 2 - 3 years of experience producing broadcast and/or streaming content.
- Comfortable working in the control room, especially during breaking news.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, manage tight deadlines, and react quickly to breaking news.
- Strong editorial judgement, attention to detail, and communication skills.
- Effective time management skills.
- Basic video editing skills.
- Availability to work early mornings, nights, overnights, weekends, and holidays.
- Commitment to maintaining CBS News editorial standards, accuracy, and ethical guidelines across all platforms.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with iNews and various streaming systems.
- Social media production experience.
- Understanding of SEO strategy and YouTube.
