The Developer Relations Lead will serve as the technical bridge between Pluralis Research and the broader machine learning and systems community. This role is responsible for translating complex research in distributed training and decentralized AI into accessible, compelling content and fostering engagement with developers, researchers, and contributors.
What You'll Do
- Write blog posts, threads, and explainers that break down Pluralis's research for ML engineers and systems researchers
- Turn research papers into clear, compelling narratives
- Produce technical walkthroughs of training runs, architecture decisions, and results
- Own Discord and Twitter/X as technical community channels
- Engage directly with researchers and engineers in ML, distributed systems, and decentralized compute communities
- Be present and credible in spaces like Hacker News, Reddit (r/MachineLearning, r/LocalLLaMA), and relevant Discords
- Represent Pluralis at ML conferences (ICLR, ICML, NeurIPS)
- Give talks, run demos, and build relationships with the research community at events
- Improve onboarding and communication for GPU contributors participating in training runs
- Write documentation, guides, and troubleshooting resources for contributors
- Produce and edit video content including paper walkthroughs, research explainers, and contributor tutorials
- Manage the YouTube channel
- Create co-marketing materials and coordinate announcements with ecosystem partners
- Support the team with investor and press-facing technical content when needed
- Track metrics across all channels
- Run experiments and optimize for discoverability and engagement
- Own reporting on community growth, content performance, and contributor pipeline
- Track developments in decentralized training, open-weight releases, and frontier model development
- Feed market intelligence and insights to leadership to maintain competitive positioning
What We're Looking For
- Ability to read an ML paper and extract the key insight
- Understanding of concepts such as model parallelism, pipeline parallelism, gradient compression, and distributed optimization — or ability to get up to speed quickly
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to explain complex systems like fault-tolerant distributed training in a way that is accurate, clear, and engaging for both PhD students and crypto-native builders
- Track record of producing technical content that is widely read and shared (e.g. blog posts, conference talks, Twitter threads, YouTube videos)
- 5+ years of experience in Developer Relations, technical marketing, developer education, or a research-adjacent communication role
- Active presence and credibility in ML, distributed systems, and decentralized compute communities (e.g. ML Twitter, research Discords, Hacker News, Reddit)
- Proficiency in using AI tools, agents, and LLMs to maximize productivity and output
- Self-directed with ability to own outcomes and operate independently
- Ability to work closely with researchers and engineers to source content while driving strategy and execution autonomously
- Professional-level English proficiency (written and spoken)
