PostHog is looking for a Developer Advocate to build a YouTube channel that is genuinely useful and entertaining for developers, product engineers, startup founders, and builders. Your mission is to create high-quality video content, including tutorials, demos, and guides about developer tools and trends.
What You'll Do
- Script, present, and edit video content for a developer audience.
- Originate your own content ideas and adapt existing content into video form.
- Talk to PostHog product engineers about their work as inspiration for videos.
- Educate developers on the latest trends (e.g., new tools, best practices, using AI).
- Teach developers how they can use PostHog to achieve their goals.
- Own all the creative elements of your videos (e.g., titles, thumbnails, descriptions).
- Analyze video and channel performance to understand what works and why.
What We're Looking For
- Strong engineering skills: able to ship full stack apps and familiarity with JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, and popular frontend frameworks.
- Good writing and presentation skills: enjoy presenting and be a solid writer who can write scripts and give feedback.
- Be an early adopter: love tinkering with new tools, models, and frameworks, learning them inside out, and sharing knowledge.
- Competent with video editing tools: able to ship a video end-to-end when needed.
- Can shoot at home: able to shoot videos from home (equipment provided).
- Active in developer communities: active participant in Discords, Twitch streams, subreddits, or social media.
