About the Role
The individual in this role will be responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining desktop computers, operating systems, and peripheral devices. This includes diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues, supporting end-users, and ensuring system reliability and security.
Responsibilities
- Install and configure desktop computers, monitors, and related hardware
- Set up and maintain user accounts and desktop operating systems
- Diagnose and resolve hardware and software malfunctions
- Provide technical support to end-users in person or remotely
- Replace or repair defective components such as hard drives and RAM
- Ensure operating systems are up to date with security patches
- Support peripheral devices including printers, scanners, and docks
- Document technical issues and resolution steps
- Assist with network connectivity troubleshooting
- Maintain inventory of IT equipment and supplies
- Follow established procedures for data backup and recovery
- Escalate complex issues to senior technicians when needed
- Participate in after-hours maintenance when required
- Ensure compliance with organizational security policies
- Support software deployment and updates
- Assist with onboarding new employees' workstations
- Respond promptly to service tickets and support requests
- Maintain clean and organized workspaces and equipment rooms
- Follow safety protocols when handling electronic devices
- Collaborate with team members on shared projects
- Assist with mobile device setup and support
- Perform routine system performance checks
- Support virtual desktop environments when applicable
- Contribute to knowledge base articles for common issues
- Adhere to asset lifecycle management procedures

On-Call Rotation
This role may require participation in an after-hours on-call schedule to address critical system outages or urgent support needs outside standard business hours.
Physical Requirements
Candidates must be able to lift up to 40 pounds, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces such as server closets or under desks when installing or servicing equipment.
