About the Role

The Desktop Support Engineer I delivers hands-on technical assistance for desktop computing environments, ensuring employees have reliable access to the systems and tools needed to perform their jobs effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and resolve desktop and laptop hardware problems
  • Install, configure, and maintain workstations and peripherals
  • Support and troubleshoot operating system and software issues
  • Respond to user support tickets in a timely manner
  • Maintain accurate records of service requests and resolutions
  • Assist with onboarding and offboarding of employee technology setups
  • Deploy and update desktop images using standard tools
  • Manage user accounts and access permissions in directory services
  • Support remote access solutions for off-site employees
  • Perform routine system updates and security patches
  • Troubleshoot network connectivity issues at the desktop level
  • Collaborate with IT teams to escalate complex technical problems
  • Ensure compliance with internal IT policies and procedures
  • Maintain inventory of desktop equipment and software licenses
  • Provide technical guidance to non-technical staff
  • Assist in the rollout of new desktop software initiatives
  • Support mobile device integration with corporate systems
  • Configure email clients and calendar applications
  • Resolve printer and peripheral connectivity issues
  • Contribute to documentation of support processes and FAQs
  • Participate in after-hours support on a rotational basis
  • Follow change management protocols for system modifications
  • Support virtual desktop environments when required
  • Ensure data security practices are followed on end-user devices
  • Assist with basic cybersecurity awareness for end users

Job Description: * Support L&OD Department operations, including the team calendar, team mailbox, bi-weekly team meetings and supplies. * Develop presentation materials (PowerPoint, Excel, etc.) * Support the development and implementation of strategic initiatives working with all members of the L&OD Team * Physically set up for programs and events by arranging classroom space, evening events, etc. * Prepare and organize program materials, including printing handouts, preparing workbooks, mailing materials to participants, securing vendor materials, etc. * Support event logistics such as hotel reservations, transportation management, and vendor coordination. * Support all members of the L&OD team as needed for cross functional projects, programs, and events. Qualifications: * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Self-directed and able to work independently, with the initiative to manage assignments and follow-through * Proactive in identifying questions and seeking clarity, especially in new or ambiguous situations * Energetic, curious, and eager to tackle new projects and ideas * Must upload a resume, professional reference, and a cover letter with your application Pay Rate: $18.50 an hour. Final compensation will be dependent upon skills & experience.
