About the Role
The Design Engineer will lead the creation and improvement of product designs, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure technical feasibility, user-centered functionality, and timely delivery within established specifications.
Responsibilities
- Develop detailed product designs using CAD tools and engineering principles
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate design with manufacturing processes
- Conduct design reviews and iterate based on feedback
- Ensure designs meet performance, safety, and regulatory standards
- Produce technical documentation for design specifications and revisions
- Analyze prototypes through testing and simulation methods
- Identify and resolve design flaws during development phases
- Optimize designs for manufacturability, cost, and sustainability
- Work closely with R&D to incorporate new technologies
- Support tooling and fixture design for production
- Maintain version control and design records
- Translate conceptual ideas into functional blueprints
- Evaluate materials and components for suitability in design
- Participate in failure mode and effects analysis
- Coordinate with suppliers on design feasibility
- Implement design changes based on field performance
- Use simulation software to validate structural integrity
- Ensure compliance with industry-specific standards
- Assist in product certification and compliance testing
- Contribute to design for assembly and maintenance strategies
- Monitor emerging design trends and engineering practices
- Support root cause analysis for product issues
- Integrate user feedback into design improvements
- Manage multiple design projects simultaneously
- Deliver presentations on design progress to stakeholders
