American Medical Technology Inc. (AMT) is looking for a Design Engineer to join our team. You will design and develop new products and improve existing ones within the enteral feeding and surgical industries, overseeing projects from initial concept through finalized design and transfer to manufacturing. You'll work independently and collaboratively within the engineering department and with sales & marketing.
What You'll Do
- Lead new product design and major improvements to current products
- Manage overall projects including timeline updates
- Coordinate with engineering and other departments to complete project tasks
- Deliver extensive presentations on project status updates
- Perform risk analysis assessments
- Determine user needs and functional specifications
- Oversee design validation and clinical evaluation
- Conduct prototyping and product testing
- Correspond with vendors for samples and quotes
- Perform cost analysis and price breakdowns of components and assemblies
- Create Bills of Materials (BOMs) and develop manufacturing procedures
- Manage design transfer to manufacturing and provide follow-up support
What We're Looking For
- A minimum of a 4-year bachelor’s degree
- 5+ years of relevant design and/or product development experience
- A creative thinker who is also practical in getting things accomplished
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to meet with medical personnel
- Advanced experience using Solidworks and/or other 3D modeling software
Nice to Have
- Medical device development experience and familiarity with FDA submissions
- Familiarity or experience with injection molding
