About the Role

American Medical Technology Inc. seeks a Design Engineer to develop new products and redesign existing ones within the enteral feeding and surgical device industries. You will independently and collaboratively manage projects from initial concept through design transfer to manufacturing. Your work will directly impact product quality and manufacturing efficiency.

What You'll Do

  • Redesign and improve current products, processes, and materials.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
  • Source and test alternate materials.
  • Manage project timelines and present status updates.
  • Create prototypes and conduct product testing.
  • Correspond with vendors for samples and quotes.
  • Perform cost analysis and price breakdowns for components and assemblies.
  • Develop bills of materials (BOMs) and manufacturing procedures.
  • Support design transfer to manufacturing and provide follow-up support.

What We're Looking For

  • A minimum of a 4-year bachelor’s degree.
  • 3+ years of relevant design and/or product development experience.
  • Creative yet practical problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced experience with Solidworks and/or other 3D modeling software.
  • Strong ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical documents, business journals, and regulations.
  • Proficiency in writing reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and answer questions from diverse groups.
  • Competence in mathematical calculations, algebra, geometry, probability, and statistical inference.
  • Ability to solve practical problems with limited standardization and interpret various technical instructions.
  • A valid Driver’s License.
  • Willingness to pass required drug, alcohol, and/or criminal background checks.

Nice to Have

  • Medical device development experience, particularly with FDA submissions.
  • Familiarity with injection molding processes.
  • Basic machining capabilities.

  • Mold Flow Analysis & FEA Software
  • Injection molding machines, Tensile Testers, Optical Comparators
  • Gauges and other QA tools
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Electrical and General hand tools
