MyFlorida (Department of Management Services) is hiring a Dentist to serve under the direction of the Investigations/Consumer Services Administrator. This role involves examining, evaluating, and investigating eligibility and conformity with laws and regulations for licenses and permits to protect public health.
What You'll Do
- Conduct onsite inspections for new dental sedation permits and location change requests to determine compliance with rules and regulations.
- Perform dental sedation inspections and investigate violations discovered during the process.
- Conduct trainings and give presentations on dental sedation and dentistry-related investigations to staff and licensees.
- Provide technical assistance to MQA investigators in specialized dentistry cases.
- Offer technical expertise in rule-making and statutory review, working with Department enforcement programs.
- Prepare investigative reports, audit reports, and probation reports.
- Testify at hearings and provide professional assistance to legal staff, investigative staff, and other regulatory agencies.
- Serve subpoenas and administrative complaints.
- Answer public inquiries, make referrals, participate in public speaking engagements, and promote the Department's mission.
- Perform other related duties as required, including assistance in disaster response and recovery.
What We're Looking For
- A clear and active Florida Dentist license with no disciplinary action within the last five (5) years.
- Current possession of a Florida Sedation Permit for General Anesthesia.
- Two (2) years of experience in a dental sedation setting, including assisting during sedation and recovery.
- Two (2) years of medical/dental records utilization review experience.
- Willingness to work physically onsite to perform job duties.
- A valid driver's license, satisfactory completion of a background investigation, fingerprinting, and participation in direct deposit.

You will be part of the Investigative Services Unit within the Bureau of Enforcement, Division of Medical Quality Assurance, reporting to the Investigations/Consumer Services Administrator.
