HMH is hiring a Delivery Lead

About the Role

HMH, a K-12 adaptive learning company, is hiring a Delivery Lead. You will drive end-to-end project execution across multiple Agile teams, enabling the delivery of high-impact, complex solutions. As a seasoned leader bridging strategy and execution, you will ensure alignment, remove obstacles, and maintain a clear path to value delivery.

What You'll Do

  • Lead two or more Agile teams in delivering complex, end-to-end technology solutions.
  • Collaborate across product, engineering, and business stakeholders to ensure alignment with goals and priorities.
  • Provide delivery leadership across the entire project lifecycle, from initial planning and backlog grooming to sprint execution, release planning, and retrospectives.
  • Foster a high-performance environment through mentoring, coaching, and supporting team growth and innovation.
  • Identify and resolve cross-team dependencies and risks early to keep delivery on track.
  • Use data and delivery metrics (e.g., velocity, burndown, throughput) to drive transparency and predictability.
  • Effectively communicate project status, blockers, and progress to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Champion a “Quality First” approach and promote continuous improvement within and across teams.
  • Handle shifting business priorities and navigate conflicting demands with calm, focused leadership.
  • Encourage creative problem-solving and challenge short-term thinking in favor of long-term value.
  • Bring structure and direction to highly complex and ambiguous problem spaces.
  • Cultivate a delivery culture of accountability, ownership, and measurable outcomes.
  • Contribute to broader organizational improvements by identifying process and structure enhancements.

What We're Looking For

  • 5-8 years of experience leading software development and product delivery teams.
  • Proven success managing end-to-end delivery of complex technical projects, with full ownership over planning, tracking, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Experience working with multiple cross-functional Agile teams in a scaled environment.
  • Strong command of Agile methodologies and tools like Jira and Confluence.
  • Experience navigating business priorities and influencing stakeholders to achieve project goals.
  • Excellent communication (written, verbal, presentation) and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build trust, support team dynamics, and encourage high performance.
  • High attention to detail and a bias for action.
  • Comfort making tough decisions and asking for support when needed.
  • Bachelor’s degree in education, business, or a technical discipline.
  • Agile Scrum Master Certification.

Nice to Have

  • Knowledge of the K–12 education technology sector and the user needs of educators, students, and administrators.
  • Experience delivering AI/ML projects or working closely with data science/AI teams.

Technical Stack

  • Jira
  • Confluence

Team & Environment

You will work across cross-functional Agile teams. We are building a team of IT professionals with an insatiable appetite to learn, a relentless focus on customer service, technological curiosity toward future possibilities, and creativity in solving business challenges with leading technologies. We find ways to work together, create a sense of community where it’s safe to take risks and learn together, develop our careers, and all have an opportunity to work on new technologies.
