Border States, a 100% employee-owned company, is looking for a Delivery Driver to join our team in Rapid City, SD. You will support day-to-day warehouse operations by providing reliable delivery services and ensuring our customers receive their materials on time. What You'll Do
- Deliver materials to Border States branches and customer sites based on business needs.
- Maintain delivery vehicles in clean, good working condition and monitor maintenance and mileage data.
- Schedule DOT and state-mandated vehicle inspection visits.
- Maintain daily driver logs and vehicle inspection sheets.
- Complete truck summaries, driver logs, pay truck expenses, and update appropriate records daily.
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal traffic and safety regulations.
- Coordinate deliveries using our trucks, assigned freight companies, or other carriers.
- Load and unload material at branch and customer locations.
- Perform warehouse functions such as order filling, stocking shelves, processing returns, receiving, and shipping.
- Conduct Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) as part of your daily route.
- Check and pack material for delivery.
- Maintain shipping equipment and keep work areas clean and safe.
- Assist the City Desk and Will Call areas with customer service functions including order entry, filling orders, processing returns, expediting, and providing technical assistance.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum of 21 years of age.
- Valid driver’s license to operate company vehicles.
- Current medical certification.
- Clean driving record.
- Working knowledge of PC for Windows and the Internet.
Nice to Have
- Two-years of general work experience.
- Prior warehouse distribution experience, including forklift operation and good knowledge of electrical products and systems.
- SAP software experience.
