Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain databases for GHX systems, including backup execution and recovery procedures
- Track and evaluate database capacity and performance metrics
- Oversee data security and control access to database resources
- Perform software installations, system upgrades, and apply patches as needed
- Handle failover processes for database servers
- Protect organizational data, tools, and information systems by following operational and security protocols across service lifecycles
- Conduct continuous monitoring and provide on-call support for database troubleshooting
- Deliver operational insights to development and release teams
- Mentor and support less experienced database engineers
- Work with database platform engineers on version management, upgrades, and recommended practices
