Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors is seeking a Data Privacy Expert to lead data privacy initiatives within a vibrant, innovative environment. As a dedicated privacy champion, you will guide the organization in navigating complex data protection regulations such as GDPR, ensuring compliance, and fostering a culture of privacy awareness.
What You'll Do
- Develop, maintain, and enhance the data privacy framework to ensure compliance with GDPR and other applicable regulations.
- Serve as the primary liaison to global privacy and security teams, aligning local initiatives with corporate strategies.
- Interpret complex privacy laws and convert them into actionable policies, procedures, and technical guidelines.
- Manage processes for data subject access requests (DSARs) and other privacy-related inquiries efficiently.
- Assess and mitigate privacy risks related to third-party vendors and data processors, including contract reviews.
- Design and deliver privacy training and awareness programs to cultivate a privacy-conscious culture among employees.
- Monitor evolving privacy laws and industry best practices to proactively recommend necessary updates.
- Collaborate with IT and security teams on risk assessments, security measure reviews, and incident response planning.
- Support compliance audits and contribute expertise for standards such as ISO 27001 and ISO 13485.
What We're Looking For
- Strong expertise in GDPR and practical application of data protection regulations.
- Proven experience in establishing and managing comprehensive data privacy frameworks.
- Ability to bridge legal requirements and technical implementation, effectively communicating with both legal and technical stakeholders.
- Solid understanding of information security principles, risk management, and relevant security concepts.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, capable of simplifying complex privacy issues.
- Self-motivated, able to work independently in a fast-paced, agile startup or corporate environment.

- Experience working in startup and technology environments.
- Basic technical knowledge of cloud computing, software development lifecycles, and data architectures.
