NEC Software Solutions (NECSWS) is looking for an experienced Data Migration Consultant to join our Local Government data migration team. In this hands-on role, you will take ownership of designing, developing, and executing migration solutions to ensure data is transferred accurately, securely, and efficiently into target systems, collaborating closely with technical and business stakeholders.
What You'll Do
- Design, develop, maintain, and execute ETL processes to migrate data from legacy systems to target platforms.
- Conduct data profiling, data structure analysis, and modelling for new migration solutions using data manipulation tools.
- Maintain, design, write, and optimize PLSQL and SQL solutions, preferably within Oracle environments.
- Apply a strong data quality framework to ensure accuracy, reconciliation, timeliness, integrity, and efficiency.
- Collaborate with migration team and revenues and benefits consultants to maintain migration quality and integrity.
- Engage with end users to assess needs and concerns regarding migration progress and issues.
- Provide solutions and feedback to migration issues raised by the customer after each test migration.
- Create clear documentation of migration processes, data mappings, and data quality checks.
What We're Looking For
- A solid understanding of data transformations and ETL workflows.
- Experience in data migration projects.
- Knowledge and application of data analysis and quality processes within migration.
- Strong SQL development skills, preferably within Oracle environments.
- Experience engaging with customers/end users and collaborating with colleagues.
- A strong problem-solving mindset, with the ability to take ownership and work independently.
Nice to Have
- Experience in local government data migration projects.
- Experience with other databases such as Ingres, Postgres, or MySQL.
- Knowledge of data modelling, data warehousing, or data integration tools.
