About the Role
The technician will be responsible for maintaining data center systems, diagnosing hardware failures, and ensuring network reliability through proactive monitoring and timely interventions.
Responsibilities
- Install and configure servers and networking equipment
- Monitor data center infrastructure for performance issues
- Respond to hardware and network alerts promptly
- Perform root cause analysis on system failures
- Replace faulty components including drives, power supplies, and motherboards
- Maintain accurate records of equipment and repairs
- Follow standard operating procedures for all tasks
- Assist with rack and stack deployments
- Support network connectivity checks and verifications
- Troubleshoot server boot and connectivity problems
- Escalate complex technical issues to engineering teams
- Ensure compliance with safety and security protocols
- Maintain clean and organized work areas
- Participate in on-call rotations
- Conduct routine system health checks
- Assist with data center audits and inventory
- Follow change management processes
- Handle equipment decommissioning and disposal
- Support cabling and labeling standards
- Work with remote hands requests as needed
- Assist in disaster recovery procedures
- Maintain uptime and service availability
- Respond to emergency outages
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams
- Adhere to environmental controls and monitoring
