About the Role
This role leads the design and engineering delivery of large-scale data center projects, managing technical teams and coordinating with stakeholders to ensure designs meet performance, reliability, and efficiency standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and engineering coordination for mission-critical data center developments
- Oversee multidisciplinary teams throughout all project phases, from concept to construction
- Ensure designs comply with industry standards for uptime, redundancy, and operational efficiency
- Manage technical quality and consistency across engineering deliverables
- Coordinate with architects, contractors, and clients to align project goals
- Develop and maintain project schedules and design milestones
- Review engineering calculations, drawings, and specifications for accuracy
- Support procurement and contractor selection processes
- Lead design reviews and risk assessments
- Integrate sustainability and energy efficiency into design solutions
- Ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements
- Mentor and guide junior engineers and design staff
- Troubleshoot technical challenges during design and construction
- Prepare and present design documentation to stakeholders
- Maintain alignment with client technical requirements and operational needs
- Drive continuous improvement in design processes and tools
- Collaborate with operations teams for maintainability and service access
- Oversee the integration of electrical, mechanical, and cooling systems
- Ensure compatibility with IT infrastructure and network architecture
- Manage changes to scope and technical specifications
- Support commissioning and handover activities
- Promote innovation in modular and scalable data center design
- Work within global project teams across time zones
- Ensure documentation is complete, accurate, and archived
- Maintain awareness of emerging technologies in data center infrastructure
