About the Role
The engineer will support data center operations by managing hardware, network systems, and cloud integrations while ensuring uptime, scalability, and compliance with organizational standards.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and maintain data center infrastructure including servers, storage, and networking equipment
- Perform hardware installations, upgrades, and decommissioning tasks
- Troubleshoot and resolve system and network issues promptly
- Ensure compliance with security policies and data protection standards
- Support disaster recovery and business continuity procedures
- Document configurations, changes, and operational procedures
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on infrastructure projects
- Manage power, cooling, and physical space utilization in data centers
- Implement monitoring tools to track system performance and availability
- Respond to alerts and incidents during scheduled and on-call periods
- Maintain accurate inventory of hardware and software assets
- Assist in cloud migration and hybrid infrastructure initiatives
- Follow change management protocols for system modifications
- Ensure proper cabling, labeling, and rack configurations
- Support cybersecurity audits and vulnerability remediation
- Participate in capacity planning and forecasting
- Work with vendors for equipment procurement and support
- Enforce environmental and safety standards in data center facilities
- Assist in automating routine operational tasks
- Provide technical guidance during system outages or emergencies
- Ensure adherence to compliance requirements such as SOC, ISO, or HIPAA
- Optimize system performance through tuning and configuration adjustments
- Support virtualization platforms and hypervisor management
- Maintain secure access controls for data center entry and systems
- Contribute to post-incident reviews and root cause analyses

Physical Requirements

On-Call Availability
