Hilmar Cheese Company is looking for a Senior Manager of Dairy Procurement to coordinate long-term strategic activities in support of milk pricing, supply, and supplier relationships. You will be responsible for risk management, supply quality, and the mission objectives of our company with a focus on direct farm milk, outside supply, and dairy ingredient procurement.
What You'll Do
- Develop the long-term milk strategy and oversee its effective implementation.
- Formulate milk pricing and balancing strategies.
- Direct the Milk Procurement Team to ensure inventory forecasting and milk ingredient models support operational requirements.
- Lead budgeting and supply discussions for milk.
- Negotiate sweet cream sales agreements with external buyers.
- Advise Hilmar senior leadership on milk market dynamics for pricing deliberations.
- Establish pooling arrangements with external partners.
- Manage the settlement and recording of Sweet Cream and Whey Cream transactions.
- Conduct Milk Team meetings, supported by the Producer Relations Team.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Dairy Science, Ag Economics, or a related field.
- 7+ years of related procurement experience.
- Dairy or food manufacturing industry experience.
- Proficiency in using MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, and Excel).
Nice to Have
- Demonstrated experience in the dairy supply chain.
- Proven expertise in milk price modelling and procurement activities.
- Proficiency in managing pooling relationships.
- Master’s degree.

Benefits & Compensation
- Salary range: USD $134,149 - $201,223 annually.
