What You'll Do
Manage the full lifecycle of custody operations for Saudi-listed securities, including equities, Sukuk, ETFs, and fixed-income instruments. Oversee daily settlement processes, asset transfers, and position reconciliations in alignment with T+2 timelines and CMA mandates.
Act as the main liaison with key Saudi financial entities such as the Securities Depository Center (Edaa), the Saudi Exchange (Tadawul), custodian banks, and clearing houses. Represent the firm during regulatory engagements, audits, and reporting cycles with the Capital Market Authority.
Lead the processing of corporate actions, including dividend distributions, rights offerings, stock splits, mergers, and Zatka-related events. Develop and refine operational workflows to minimize risk, improve accuracy, and support business expansion.
Partner with engineering and product teams to automate custody functions, reduce manual intervention, and enhance system reliability. Drive initiatives that align custody operations with evolving regulatory and market infrastructure changes in Saudi Arabia.
Requirements
- Minimum of 7 years in securities custody, clearing, or brokerage operations, with direct experience in Saudi or GCC capital markets
- Thorough understanding of Edaa’s depository systems, Tadawul settlement mechanics, and the end-to-end Saudi securities lifecycle
- Proven knowledge of CMA regulations, including Securities Business Regulations, AML requirements, and client asset segregation rules
- Experience with Saudi financial instruments: equities, Sukuk, ETFs, REITs, and government bonds
- Fluency in both Arabic and English, with strong interpersonal and cross-functional communication skills
- Track record in managing reconciliation processes, identifying settlement breaks, and resolving discrepancies
- Experience designing, documenting, and improving operational procedures in regulated environments
- Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and develop a team of operations professionals
- High level of precision, risk awareness, and commitment to compliance
Preferred Qualifications
- CME-1 or other CMA-recognized professional certification
- Background in Qualified Foreign Investor (QFI) programs or Tadawul swap arrangements
- Work experience at a fintech, startup, or CMA-authorized financial institution
- Exposure to APIs and automation tools, or collaboration with engineering teams on operational modernization
- Understanding of digital asset custody or blockchain-based securities
- Familiarity with Saudi Vision 2030 financial reforms and CSDI developments
- Experience working in remote or hybrid environments
