AECOM is hiring an Army Client Account Director

About the Role

As the primary point of contact for the Army client, this role is responsible for shaping and executing a strategic growth agenda across a complex portfolio of federal programs. You will align internal business lines with external market dynamics, guiding resource allocation and investment decisions to maximize performance and capture new opportunities.

What You'll Do

Develop and manage a forward-looking strategic plan that responds to shifts in the defense landscape. Identify key market drivers, assess competitor activity, and collaborate with regional and business line leaders to define growth targets. Maintain an active, updated pipeline in Salesforce, ensuring all major pursuits have formal capture strategies and coordinated teaming approaches.

Oversee contract performance with a focus on compliance, client satisfaction, and financial health. Monitor program manager results against booking goals, lead corrective actions when needed, and ensure FAR and federal requirements are met. Review CPARs and maintain direct, regular communication with key program leads and client stakeholders.

Facilitate cross-functional coordination across business lines and regions, resolving conflicts and aligning priorities. Lead account reviews, support major proposal efforts, and serve on joint venture governance boards as needed. Champion pricing, risk management, and proposal sign-offs while promoting a unified federal team structure.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated leadership in managing large-scale federal accounts, particularly within defense or national government sectors
  • Proven ability to build consensus across geographies and business units
  • Strong strategic planning and analytical skills, with experience in market and competitor analysis
  • Experience managing pipelines, capture processes, and contract performance in a federal contracting environment
  • Familiarity with Salesforce for pipeline tracking and reporting
  • Ability to identify organizational conflicts of interest and act as an ombudsman to resolve them
  • Regular communication with senior stakeholders and executive leadership

Benefits

This role supports a national mission with high visibility, offering the chance to shape long-term client strategy and influence enterprise-wide collaboration. You will work across divisions to strengthen client relationships, advance compliance, and drive portfolio quality improvement in a structured federal environment.
