What You'll Do
Deliver advanced prehospital care during interfacility and emergency transports, operating within established protocols and clinical guidelines. Conduct thorough patient assessments, develop care plans, and implement life-saving interventions throughout each shift.
Continuously monitor patient status, accurately record treatments, and communicate changes to receiving teams. Provide clear, compassionate education to patients and their families about medical conditions and procedures performed during transport.
Ensure all medical equipment is inspected, maintained, and ready for use. Anticipate clinical needs and secure necessary supplies to support high-acuity cases. Keep the transport unit fully stocked and prepared for immediate deployment.
Safely operate emergency vehicles under diverse weather and traffic conditions, following strict safety protocols. Complete daily inventories of medications, supplies, and tools, restocking as required. Maintain accurate, timely documentation in compliance with regulatory standards.
Requirements
- Valid Paramedic license
- Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications
- Commercial Drivers License (CDL) or standard Driver's License
- Completion of CEVO or EVOC emergency vehicle training
- At least one year of advanced life support transport experience
- Minimum five years of passenger vehicle driving experience
- Basic computer proficiency for documentation and data entry
Preferred Qualifications
- Three or more years in critical care transport
- Five or more years of advanced life support transport experience
- Associate or bachelor's degree in a health-related field
- Graduation from UMBC, University of Florida, or recognized Critical Care Paramedic program
- Holding CCEMT-P, CICP, UF CCP, FP-C, or CCP-C certification
