AdventHealth is hiring a Critical Care Paramedic Nights

Role OverviewWork overnight as a Critical Care Paramedic providing advanced medical care during interfacility patient transports. You'll operate within established EMS protocols and under the guidance of the EMS Medical Director to deliver safe, effective interventions while ensuring compliance, documentation accuracy, and vehicle readiness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver direct patient care during transport in alignment with your scope of practice and departmental policies.
  • Assess patient conditions, develop care plans, administer treatments, and evaluate outcomes throughout each transport.
  • Record and report patient status and interventions clearly and accurately to support continuity of care.
  • Provide clear explanations to patients and families about medical conditions and treatments administered.
  • Inspect, maintain, and restock medical equipment and supplies at the start and end of each shift.
  • Anticipate equipment needs based on patient acuity and ensure all necessary tools are available.
  • Operate emergency vehicles safely under diverse weather and traffic conditions, following all safety regulations.
  • Maintain vehicle and unit readiness, including inventory of medications and supplies.
  • Ensure all patient records and departmental documentation meet legal and operational standards.
  • Complete additional tasks as needed to support team effectiveness and patient safety.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Valid Paramedic license
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) credentials
  • Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) or standard Driver’s License (DL)
  • Emergency Vehicle Operator certification (CEVO or EVOC)
  • Minimum of one year of advanced life support transport experience
  • At least five years of passenger vehicle driving experience
  • Basic computer proficiency for documentation and communication

Preferred:

  • Three or more years of critical care transport experience
  • Five or more years in advanced life support transport roles
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a related field

Work Environment
