Hims & Hers is hiring a Counsel, Employment to join our Legal team. In this role, you will advise on a broad spectrum of labor and employment matters, including cross-border employment and AI in the workplace, partnering closely with the business to navigate complex issues. You will also build scalable processes to enhance compliance efforts for our rapidly growing company.
What You'll Do
- Provide strategic legal counsel across all stages of the employment lifecycle.
- Advise on U.S. federal and state employment laws, as well as global matters like policy development, employee mobility, and immigration.
- Conduct internal investigations related to allegations of employee misconduct.
- Partner with the Litigation team on employment-related claims and dispute resolution.
- Review and update policies and agreement templates for compliance and scalability.
- Deliver training on relevant legal developments and best practices.
- Collaborate with the People team to ensure initiatives comply with applicable laws.
- Drive internal compliance reviews, including wage and hour and pay equity audits.
- Leverage data and trends to identify systemic risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
What We're Looking For
- J.D. from an accredited law school and active membership in at least one U.S. state bar.
- 8+ years of employment law experience.
- Strong command of U.S. federal and state employment laws.
- Experience advising on employment matters across multijurisdictional workforces.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills; ability to translate complex legal issues into clear, practical guidance.
- Sound judgment and a hands-on approach to navigating novel issues.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
Nice to Have
- Experience ideally combining law firm and in-house practice.
- Familiarity with international labor and employment laws.
